Highlights from the Fashion Fusion 2018

Lufthansa FlyingLab Fashion Fusion

Lufthansa and Deutsche Telekom are co-hosting the FlyingLab Fashion Fusion. Technological innovations meet fashion and design. In the Telekom Fashion Fusion, designers and developers are being called upon to come up with groundbreaking ideas for more travel comfort. The young teams will present their solutions for aircraft seats, in-flight entertainment and how the cabin crew can find out more about what their guests want.

On the flight to Houston, three teams will present their prototypes on board the A380. The projects will also be presented later at the CES 2018 tech fair in Las Vegas in front of a select audience.

The Fashion Fusion Teams

Team Feel.Flight

The team members describe their project as holistic improvement for passengers on long-haul flights. Integral to the solution are a chatbot, temperature-controlled blankets as well as "intelligent" slippers that minimise the risk of thrombosis on long flights.

Team Lyra

The goal is to have better communication between passengers and flight attendants. By means of smart watches, tablets and smart glasses, cabin crew receive information that is relevant to the passenger's flight information and seat, making a more personalised service possible.

Team Smart Chair

This group will present the aircraft seat of tomorrow: The cocoon function offers passengers significantly more privacy. In addition, they can simultaneously experience the in-flight entertainment selection in a completely unique way via an OLED display. A new uniform for the cabin crew will also be presented, where innovative materials, which are waterproof but also breathable, keep the clothing crease-free.

CES 2018: Experience technological innovations first-hand

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas sets the technological agenda for 2018. While this city located in the Nevada desert is best-known for its casinos, in January it will become a pilgrimage site for all technology enthusiasts. It's where you'll find the latest trends, from cars, health and robotics, to entertainment electronics. Among the more than 3,900 exhibitors will be renowned producers as well as emerging start-ups. In the halls of the convention centre, as well as in various hotel suites, everything will revolve around technological innovations for four days (9 to 12 January 2018).

Fly to Las Vegas via Houston with the Lufthansa FlyingLab. After arrival in Houston, it will fly on to Las Vegas on 8 January 2018 on flight UA2102.
